The Bear Creek School Endowment Fund

Your gift to the Endowment Fund is an investment in the Bear Creek experience for future generations of students. The Endowment provides long-term financial sustainability to The Bear Creek School, ensuring the continuation of its vital mission. Endowment honors the past, enhances today, and ensures tomorrow by building on generations of generosity. A gift to The Bear Creek School Endowment Fund supports the school in perpetuity.

What is The Bear Creek School Endowment Fund?

An endowment fund is a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding. Endowment gifts are invested and each year a percentage of a multi-year rolling average of fair market value of the endowment fund is used to support and enhance school programs. The Bear Creek School Endowment Fund consists of donations and institutional funds set aside for permanent investment in order to produce a dependable stream of annual operating income for the school.

Is there a minimum gift level?

There is no minimum gift level to add to the existing endowment. Gifts of any size are appreciated. If you would like to create a named endowment fund, please contact the Director of Philanthropy.

Can I fund endowment through my estate?

Yes. The Bear Creek School can be named in your will to receive a portion of your estate with the condition that it be directed to endowment.

Who is responsible for managing the investment of endowment assets and administering the Endowment Fund?

The school is responsible for managing the investment of endowment assets with the guidance of trained professionals and administers the Endowment Fund in accordance with the terms of The Bear Creek School Endowment Fund agreement and investment and distribution policy. Current school policy is to distribute three to five percent per year of the principal for operational needs.
