2021 – 2022 Annual Report
The Annual Fund is our school’s number one fundraising priority every year, and the donations directly impact faculty and all students year-round.
Every year, all members of our community—parents, faculty, staff, trustees, parents of alumni, grandparents, and friends—are asked to make a tax-deductible gift to Bear Creek. The impact of these gifts can be seen in all students year-round as they support the programs that enrich and amplify their education and development so they can become the individual God intends.
The impact of participation is valued beyond the dollars. Participation with any size gift demonstrates commitment to Bear Creek, the mission, and to the school's continued success. It is a vote of confidence in our faculty too. The broader community and major donors all look at fundraising participation as a key indicator of satisfaction. If the community stands behind the school, they see Bear Creek as more deserving of their support as well.
Impact 2021 – 2022
Through your generosity, the 2021 – 2022 Annual Fund raised more than $875,000 to benefit our students.
Through your gift to the Annual Fund, we were able to offer a robust education to our students, keeping them engaged and motivated learners, allowing our teachers to be more innovative and creative than ever, and our community strong.
Your donation allowed us to maintain a nurturing and safe environment for learning in and out of the classrooms. We welcomed students safely back in the classrooms, supported a stellar faculty, and funded curricular innovations and programs. Your support allowed for new technology and training for remote learning, outdoor classrooms and learning opportunities.
Additionally, your gift also helped to provide $2.5 million in scholarships and financial aid to enable more families to experience the benefits of a Bear Creek education.
Truthfully, we could not do this without you. Students, faculty, and staff sincerely appreciate your generosity.
The Gratitude Gala was a beautiful celebration of our Bear Creek community. We were thrilled to host our annual auction and gala at The Overlake Golf and Country Club in Medina. We were able to continue the time-honored tradition bringing together parents and friends of Bear Creek to celebrate community and fellowship in a festive atmosphere. The joyous night was enjoyed by nearly 200 people at the event and many more online through our online auction
Each year the auction proceeds help fund The Bear Creek School today, tomorrow, and well into the future, with proceeds dedicated to a specific project each year. Through your generosity, the 2022 auction raised nearly $450,000 to benefit our students through improvements to our outdoor spaces. If you haven’t checked out the new Main campus playground – it’s phenomenal!
Our own Bear Creek talent Kristine Shields and emcee Ron Hippe hosted the live event. It began with a performance from the Upper School choir and band and welcome remarks from President and Headmaster Patrick Carruth and a video of faculty and students sharing what outdoor spaces do to help support out mission.
The Gratitude Gala's success results from the Advancement Committee's dedicated efforts, our lovely volunteers—a special shout out to the incredible volunteers, the outreach of our fantastic Parent Reps, and the generosity of our donors. Thank you!
A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors – Cornerstone CGI and Custom Pavers & Design, LLC whose support allowed this event to happen.
