This course will teach students how to be successful public speakers. It will show them how to develop and present speeches that explain and persuade, and how to do so in a way that is interesting and even entertaining. The class also introduces students to the variety of speech events in which students compete for the Bear Creek Forensics Team (BCFT). For members of the BCFT, they will prepare for the competitive 2016-17 season.

Katie Gomulkiewicz is a former captain of the Bear Creek Forensics Team (BCFT) and 2012-13 Washington State Champion in Impromptu speaking. Leanne Bartz (ldraayer@tbcs.org)

This intensive all-skills volleyball camp will challenge and motivate volleyball players to learn more, swing harder and play smarter. Players will work on furthering their development of fundamental skills including serving, passing, setting, and hitting. Skills based drills, as well as 3 vs. 3 and 6 vs. 6 wave competition drills, will be used to apply these skills at a high pace. Players will have the opportunity to encompass all these skills into game situations during multiple tournament style competitions.

Coach Leanne Bartz is entering her 5th season of running the Volleyball Program at The Bear Creek School. She is passionate about the game and helping young players improve their skills. Coach Bartz values taking risks and challenging players to make a great mistake while learning the game. When not on the court coaching, you can find her playing in leagues around Seattle, sitting with a good book and cup of coffee, wandering around with a camera or thinking up a new goofy adventure
