About Bear Creek

Nestled between the Cascade mountain range and the Puget Sound, The Bear Creek School is located on the east side of the greater Seattle metropolitan area, near Microsoft. The campus is in a safe and secure suburban setting.

Bear Creek is a private, independent, college preparatory, co-educational day school for preschool through grade 12. We accept Form I-20 students to Upper School in grades 9-11. Upper School Form I-20 students receive an academically rigorous liberal arts education from a distinctively Christian worldview.

We accept and enroll Form I-20 Upper School students from all parts of the world who have strong academic skills and are willing to make positive contributions to our school community.

See Study in the States for additional information.

Application for Admission

We welcome applications for admission from Upper School Form I-20 students. Applications are accepted October 1 through mid-January for upcoming fall admission consideration. Learn more about the admissions process for Form I-20 applicants.

Course of Study

The Bear Creek School's curriculum is a rigorous college preparatory program. See Curriculum. Bear Creek Form I-20 students take the same courses as other students with the exception of a required ESL/ELL class taken in their first year at Bear Creek.

Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered in grades 10-12. Scores on AP exams may be accepted as college credit by many American colleges and universities.

The standard course load is seven classes per semester. The average class size is 18. The Christian worldview is integrated throughout all subjects.

College Advising

College advising is available to all Bear Creek students in grades 9-12. College advisors work with all students to help them select a list of "best fit" schools that match their abilities and interests. College tours are conducted by our college advisor. The advisor also assists students with the preparation and final review of admission applications to colleges. Learn more about Bear Creek's college advising program.

Bear Creek graduates have been accepted to many fine colleges and universities including, but not limited to: Boston College, Boston University, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, New York University, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Rutgers, University of British Columbia, University of California Berkeley, University of California Davis, University of California Irvine, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, University of Illinois, University of Michigan, University of North Carolina, University of Southern California, University of Victoria, University of Washington, Washington University (St. Louis), Western Washington University.

Student Life

Because Bear Creek is a small community, and all students have the opportunity to participate in all activities: athletics, visual arts, performing arts, Chapel, JanTerm, travel and service learning opportunities, and community service projects. The school has a thriving International Club which hosts an International Festival each February.

All the teachers make learning enjoyable and they are cultivating a passion in students to learn. That’s something they will carry with them for the rest of their lives."
