Tuition Assistance and Grants
Purpose of Tuition Assistance
Tuition assistance enables The Bear Creek School to enroll mission-fit students who would not otherwise have access to an independent school education because of financial constraints. Our tuition assistance program assists families with students in grades K-12. Tuition assistance is not available for Form I-20 students.
In the 2017-2018 academic year, Bear Creek awarded over $2.1 million in need-based assistance to approximately 24% of the student population.
Tuition Assistance Estimators
The Tuition Assistance Estimators provide interested families with income benchmarks of how much tuition might they pay at Bear Creek. Please be advised that they are just estimates, and all awards are based on the output of the NAIS SSS tuition assistance application.
2018-2019 Tuition Assistance Application
Complete the online financial aid application on the School & Student Services by NAIS website. Log in to the Family Portal; our school code is 1165. Please note that there is a $49 fee assessed by SSS at the time of application.
- Current Families - Submit your online SSS application on or before January 8, 2018.
- New Applicant Families - Submit your online SSS application when you submit your child's application for admission. Note: Applying for admission to The Bear Creek School and applying for tuition assistance are two separate processes. Tuition assistance is awarded on an annual basis and must be re-applied for each year (although current students are offered re-enrollment every year).
Please upload the required additional documents to the NAIS website per their instructions with your SSS application (see FAQ for details). Your final award is dependent on receiving these required documents.
These grants are awarded to new and returning families who do not meet the threshold for tuition assistance, but still have demonstrated financial need and meet certain awarding criteria. All who apply for Tuition Assistance are automatically reviewed for eligibility for a Cornerstone Grant. For yearly grant consideration, recipients reapply for tuition assistance and may continue to qualify for eligibility based on an annual review of their tuition assistance application, updated financial information, and a review of new or ongoing circumstances. The Cornerstone Grant is not available for Form I-20 students.
A Sibling Subsidy is available to families with more than one student in grades K-12. Print a Sibling Subsidy Request Form or pick one up in the main office. A 2.5% sibling subsidy is available upon hand delivered receipt of the Sibling Subsidy Request Form to Accounts Receivable in the Main Building at Redmond Campus. Sibling Subsidy requests must be received by February 5, 2018. The Sibling Subsidy is not available for Form I-20 students.
