Dear Senior Class Families,

Our seniors had a wonderful evening celebrating together at Prom last Friday, and we are inspired by their Capstone Project endeavors. This is such an exciting time for the senior class as the last few weeks of high school wind down.

Please read this Update carefully for details about when to register your guests for both An Evening of Honors and Commencement as well as how parents, family, and friends may attend Senior Capstone Project presentations.

An Evening of Honors and Commencement

We look forward to celebrating with you at both An Evening of Honors on Thursday, June 10, at 6:00 p.m., and the Class of 2021 Commencement Exercises on Saturday, June 12, at 2:00 p.m.

Thank you for your quick reply to the guest count survey as we have now designed the venue maps for both events. The seating logistics are quite complex given the distancing requirements and our desire for everyone to have the very best view of their student(s) and the stage. Both events will be held on Owens Field under large tents:

As you can see, students will be seated to the left (A – K) and right (L – Z) of the stage.

Registration is required for all guests. Look for an email from me tomorrow, Thursday, May 27, at 10:00 a.m., with links for registering your guests for both events. Each family will select a seating area for each event separately based on the number of guests specified in your responses to the guest count survey. Please reserve only one seating area of the correct size for each event.

Further details about how to register will be included in the invitation on May 27, and information about day-of specifics for both events will be emailed to each family on June 3. Questions about these events should be directed to Event Coordinator Peggy Roth (proth@tbcs.org).

Senior Capstone Project Presentations

Seniors will return to campus during the week of June 7 to present their Senior Capstone Projects, and we are thrilled to announce that parents may attend their own child's presentation in person.

Presentation Schedule

Please share the presentation schedule with family and friends who may want to watch your child's presentation virtually by joining the Teams meeting. Friends and family will need to download the free Microsoft Teams app or join in a browser.

Parents may attend their own child's presentation in person. Classmates and faculty advisors will also attend in person. All others, including subject area experts, may attend virtually.

Parents on Campus

Parents who wish to attend their own child's presentation in person must follow these procedures:

  1. Print and complete the COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire at home. This is your "ticket" on campus.
  2. Arrive at the Upper School building 10 minutes prior to your child's presentation start time. Park in the east lot closest to 208th Avenue NE.
  3. Enter through the Upper School's east door. A staff member will be on hand to collect the screening form.
  4. Wear a face mask (regardless of vaccination status).
  5. Check your temperature at the temperature scanning kiosk.
  6. Proceed to your child's assigned presentation room.
  7. When your child is done presenting, leave the school building through the same east door.

Between Presentations

Between presentations, students will congregate in the Nagel Commons (one student per table). Parents will depart as soon as their child's presentation is finished.

An Evening of Honors Rehearsal

Immediately following the last presentation on Thursday, June 10, all seniors will head out to Owens Field to rehearse for An Evening of Honors. All seniors must attend in person.

Thank you for your partnership.

Blessings,

Karen Blankenbeckler
