Many of you have heard the recent news of an ongoing outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel (new) coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The outbreak began in December 2019 and continues to grow. Learn about signs and symptoms and how to prevent infection by reading our new coronavirus health policy.
The CDC has issued a Warning Level 3 Alert (Avoid Nonessential Travel to China) due to increased risk of coronavirus transmission. If you or your child have traveled to China in the last 14 days and feel sick with fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, you should:
- Notify the school nurse Lea Hysom at firstname.lastname@example.org or 425-898-1720 ext. 399.
- Seek medical care right away. Before you go to a doctor’s office or emergency room, call ahead and tell them about your recent travel and your symptom
- Avoid contact with others.
- Not travel while sick.
- Follow health policy recommendations.
