Please schedule your child's health care appointment with your family physician today to ensure you are ready to upload all of the necessary documents required for Back-to-School Registration this summer (due August 1). Review this email from Director of Health Services Lela Powell for more information.

This summer, we are offering a variety of sports, arts, and STEM camps, running June 15 through July 3, in three one-week sessions, for students who will be in grades K – 12 next fall. Camps are open to the public. Browse camps and register your child for Summer Camp 2026!

Read more for operating hours and closure dates for the Main building, Upper School, and Valley Campus from June 15 – August 14. All regular office hours will resume August 17.

Spring semester report cards will be posted on the Parent Portal on Thursday, June 18.

One of our school uniform vendors, School Uniforms by Tommy Hilfiger, is offering a school uniform promotion discount between July 27 – August 3, exclusive to Bear Creek families. See the promotion link and details. See uniform requirements on our School Uniforms page.

If your child has emergency medication at school (epinephrine autoinjectors, inhalers, diabetic supplies), please remember to pick it up from the office. Medication that has not been collected by Friday, June 26, will be discarded.

Parents of seniors, please remind your graduate that school Microsoft accounts will be deleted on June 30, including OneNote, Class Notebooks, Teams, and OneDrive. Before this date, students should save a copy of any schoolwork they want to retain. Microsoft provides these instructions.

The Office of College and Academic Advising is hosting several informative college essay workshops on campus this August to help rising seniors jumpstart the college application process as well as multiple office hours sessions between the dates of August 3 – 24. Please read more for dates, times, and details.

Check the Summer Assignments and Review page for Upper School summer assignments. Some assignments are optional; some are required. Assignments are due the first day of academic class.

Every rising senior should book a formal college advising appointment this summer with Dean of College and Academic Advising Katie Gomulkiewicz. Please read the emailed instructions.

In grade 6, students can choose between Band and Choir classes. Parents of incoming grade 6 students, please discuss the options with your child, then log in to make your child's selection. Read more for details.

Students in grades 5 – 8 and their parents will have the opportunity to visit the Middle School hallways before school officially begins to locate their lockers and classrooms and meet their teachers ahead of the new year. Save the date for either Monday, August 24, or Tuesday, August 25, between 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Save the date for Preschool Play Dates at the Valley Campus playground this summer, August 31, September 2, and September 3, between 9:00 a.m. and noon. The exact date and time for your child’s class will be announced later this summer. This will be a time for you and your child to socialize on the playground with fellow students and parents as well as your child’s teacher.

If your child will be a Bear Creek kindergartener next fall, mark your calendar for summer play dates! All Bear Creek kindergarteners and parents are invited to the Redmond Campus playground (8905 208th Ave NE) on Thursday, July 9, and Tuesday, August 4, at 9:00 a.m. to meet new classmates and reconnect with old friends this summer.

All student-athletes must receive an annual physical exam to participate in athletics. Schedule your child's appointment with your family physician early this summer to ensure eligibility.

The Bear Creek-Overlake Growls baseball team took home the fourth-place trophy in the 2026 1A Baseball State Championship tournament at the Joe Martin Stadium, May 23 – 30, making the Growls the only WIAA team in any classification to make three consecutive trips to the semi-finals. Congratulations on a great season!

We are proud of the 12 Upper School athletes who competed at the 2026 WIAA 1A State Track & Field Championships in Yakima. Several athletes medaled by finishing in the top eight of their events, highlighted by State championships in both the girls and boys 4x400m relays, and an individual State title in the boys 800m. As a team, the Bear Creek boys finished in fifth place in State. Please read more for all of our athletes’ placements.

The Bear Creek tennis program returned to the 1A State Tennis Championships for the first time in over a decade! Congratulations to our tennis athletes, junior Julia P. and freshman Andrew L., for their performances at the Yakima Tennis Club, May 22 – 23. In the girls tournament, Julia P. earned a third-place State finish in girls singles. Congratulations on a great season, Grizzlies!

Congratulations to our golf athletes, senior Noah L. and sophomore Serena L., for their performances at the 2026 1A State Golf Championships at Liberty Lake Golf Course, May 19 – 20. In the boys tournament, Noah Luedke placed 18th individually with an overall score of 158. In the girls tournament, Serena Liu achieved 19th place individually with an overall score of 182. Congratulations on a great season, Grizzlies!

Do you have any Bear Creek team uniforms laying around your house or hiding in your child’s closet? Whether from this spring or seasons past, please place all uniform-related items in a bag labeled with your child's name and bring it back to Athletics Director Chad Pohlman, Middle School Athletics Director Nathan Campbell, or your athlete's coach by the last day of school. Thank you!

Bear Creek will offer a variety of sports camps at the beginning of the summer, and Summer Camp registration is now open! We hope you plan for your child to join us at one or more camp: Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Flag Football, and Summer P.E. Eligible grades, dates, times, and locations vary by camp.
