Counseling Resources

Our school counselors and support specialists provide developmentally appropriate educational resources to teachers, conduct individual checks-ins with students as needed, and work with families to coordinate appropriate and necessary community resources. These resources might include contact information for educational psychologists, mental and behavioral health counselors, and social coaching and support groups in your area. Our support team provides short term, individual check-ins for students, which might review subjects such as:

  • Identifying and managing big emotions like worry, sadness, anger, or fear
  • Working through conflict with peers and developing conflict management skills
  • Focusing, organizing schedules, and building effective time management skills
  • Processing confusing feelings and ideas
  • Navigating big life changes

Our school counselors and support specialists also provide resources for teachers, primarily involving social and emotional concepts and skills, which include goals that work towards:

  • Students identifying and managing their emotions
  • Students motivating themselves and seeing themselves as capable
  • Students developing empathy and compassion for others, taking the perspective of others from varying backgrounds
  • Students not only considering others but contributing to the well-being of the school community
