The Bear Facts: Publication and Submissions
Publication Information
The Bear Facts is a weekly newsletter highlighting accomplishments of Bear Creek students, upcoming events, and special announcements about the happenings at school.
The newsletter is published in a completely online format consisting of searchable news and announcements in the left column and calendar events for the next two weeks in the right column. The news and announcements will be categorized as follows:
- All School News
- Upper School News
- Middle School News
- Lower School News
- Preschool News
- Grizzlies Athletics
The Bear Facts is distributed via email each Friday afternoon to all parents of students in all divisions; faculty and staff; and the Board of Trustees. The Bear Facts is distributed to the email addresses provided on the Household Profile (see MyBC/Parents).
If there is no school on Friday, The Bear Facts will be published on previous school day. The Bear Facts is not published on weeks when there are two or fewer school days (e.g., Thanksgiving week).
Submission Guidelines
Submissions to The Bear Facts should be sent to bearfacts@tbcs.org by Wednesday noon for Friday's edition. Reminders are sent weekly to all faculty, staff, and parent organization leaders.
If you are planning an event, please follow the Event Planning process and obtain all appropriate approvals prior to submitting to The Bear Facts. Event promotion is part of the planning process and usually includes listing your event on the school calendar and promoting in The Bear Facts.
If you are unsure whether or not an announcement is appropriate for The Bear Facts, please email bearfacts@tbcs.org, and we will assist you.
Submissions should be no longer than 20 – 150 words in length. Calendar details (event names, locations, dates, times, and event specifics) will be entered into the website calendar at the time an event is approved.
