Get Involved

Since our early days, a hallmark of The Bear Creek School has been the close partnership between parents and the school. Volunteering is one important part of this partnership, and the benefits are immense. Parents and guardians gain the opportunity to get to know one another, learn more deeply about the school, share their expertise and passions with the community, and live their commitment to their child’s education.

Volunteer

Volunteers are a key ingredient in the life of The Bear Creek School, and there are many avenues to become involved. Opportunities are available in the classrooms, on the athletics fields, in leading clubs, at school events, and supporting philanthropic efforts. See MyBC/Parents/Volunteer for details.

Parents are encouraged to volunteer for all-school or division level activities, events, and special projects. Classroom-specific volunteer sign-ups happen in the classroom in early September. Throughout the school year, volunteer needs will be listed periodically in The Bear Facts newsletter or via email.

If you would like to volunteer but are unsure of what to do, please submit this Volunteer Interest Form and we will help you find the best fit volunteer opportunity!

Pray

Please include Bear Creek’s students, faculty, and staff in your prayers on an ongoing basis. We are grateful for the spiritual encouragement and protection your prayers provide. If you would like to pray in community with others, look for Moms in Prayer on the school calendar.

Moms, you can make a difference by interceding for our children and school! Moms in Prayer invites you to join a group of Bear Creek moms who meet weekly to pray together, impacting our students and our school for Christ! Watch The Bear Facts and School Calendar for information about how to get involved.

Parent Groups

PTF Board 2022-2023
Parent Teacher Fellowship

The Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) enriches student life by offering and organizing programs and events that encourage participation from the entire school community to create a spirit of unity and fellowship among parents, teachers, and staff. PTF also supports and encourages teachers and staff with blessings and special events.

All parents, guardians, and teachers are members of the PTF. Annual dues are collected with (re)enrollment to help defray the costs associated with PTF.

Fall Tailgate 2019
Grizzlies Booster Club

The Grizzlies Booster Club promotes and fosters school spirit by supporting the athletics programs of The Bear Creek School. Nearly 70% of Middle School and Upper School students participate in at least one sport. All fans of The Bear Creek School are encouraged to get involved!

Membership fees are collected with your child's sports registration fee, and there are opportunities for involvement throughout the year by helping out at events, in the Hungry Bear (concessions), and Grizzly Gear Shop.

Community Partners

Bear Creek has selected nonprofit organizations with which to partner on an ongoing basis. While every family at the school has specific organizations they are passionate about supporting, these partnerships were chosen because each one incorporates curricular strands, student leadership opportunities, and full-school involvement. Selecting these community partners also allows us to limit the number of times the school community is asked to support outside organizations.

Match Your Volunteer Hours

Have you volunteered in the classroom, chaperoned a field trip or ski day, or baked for an event? Numerous local companies recognize volunteer time through the donation of cash grants to non-profits for which their employees volunteer. This means that for each hour you volunteer, your employer may donate money to The Bear Creek School. Check with your human resources department for more information about your employer's program and how to participate.
