*  If you plan to pick up Middle School students later than 2:45 p.m., please register for Drop-off/Pick-up Supervision.

Grades 5 and 6

Grades 5 and 6 follow a modified block schedule. This schedule is uniquely designed for grades 5 and 6 to meet their developmental needs as they transition from Lower School to Middle School. We believe that grades 5 and 6 students still need the nurture, care, and general oversight of a homeroom teacher. Students meet daily with their homeroom teachers for two periods of instruction and also allow students to receive instruction from subject matter experts as the grade 5 and 6 disciplines become increasingly complex. Students will attend core subjects—math, reading, writing, and history/science—with subject experts in four blocks, with varied student groups beyond their homeroom class. The schedule will still include weekly specialist classes in art, computer programming, music, lab science, Latin, and P.E. 

Grades 7 and 8

Students in grades 7 and 8 follow a rotating weekly schedule. Classes meet three or four times each week. Students meet in Office Hours three times each week, and Advisory meets once each week.
