- Connect with a King County Library or participate in the Bear Creek Libraries' Summer Reading Program.
- Keep a book in hand at all times! What great literature will you read over the summer? Here are some book lists to help you choose:
- Read Story of the World: Early Modern Times Volume 3 and Story of the World: The Modern Age Volume 4 by Susan Wise Bauer to extend the history learned in fourth grade.
- Fun pillow fun activity! Since we were unable to make reading pillows this year in fourth grade, enjoy making this keepsake as a family this summer.
- Keep a summer journal of all the fun things you do with your family!
- Bible reading challenge! We explored the Gospel of Matthew in fourth grade. Over the summer pick another Gospel to read through and talk about with your family.
- Pick a pen pal in your grade level and write a letter or email to them! Be sure to include:
- a friendly greeting
- something fun you did recently
- something you are looking forward to
- a question
- warm farewell
