Synopsis

A Shaker Village in Mount Lebanon, New York, 1904
With a dwindling number of male workers in the Mount Lebanon Shaker community, the Village is forced to redefine their traditions and distribution of labor. While the North family favors expanding partnerships with neighbors, the South family insists that Shaker labor requires Shaker hands. As the sisters begin preparing for a peace conference, the village itself is struck with its own conflicts and battles. The brothers and sisters weigh their traditions against the survival of the village.
