Congratulations to Spring Sports Season State Qualifiers

Congratulations to all our spring season teams and athletes who are competing this week in their State Championship events!

Baseball
The Growls (Overlake-Bear Creek) baseball team is headed to the Final Four after bringing in big wins over Cascade Christian (4-0) and King's Way Christian (4-1) in the regional round of the State Tournament held in Anacortes on May 21. Next up: State Semifinal vs. Vashon Island, 7:00 p.m. at Yakima County Stadium. Follow the State Tournament bracket online. Softball
The Razzlies (Forest Ridge-Bear Creek) softball team defeated Highline (18-1) and Kingston (5-1) on May 19 in the West Central/SeaKing 2A District Tournament to clinch a State berth. Due to the rain out, the State brackets are not available quite yet. Check WIAA tournament page.

Boys and Girls Golf
Senior Madison Baugh along with sophomore John Hayes and freshman Oliver Nordberg qualified for the 1A Girls and Boys Golf State Tournaments which will also be held May 24-25 at Liberty Lake Golf Course in Spokane.

Boys Tennis
Senior Caleb Ji will complete on May 27-28 in the 1B/2B/1A Boys Tennis Singles Championships at the Yakima Tennis Center. Follow the bracket online.

Track & Field
At the 1A Bi-District 1 & 2 Track & Field Championship Meet, freshman Olivia Markezich placed third in the 1600 and fourth in the 3200 to qualify for the State meet. She will run May 26-28 at the State Championship Meet at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.
