Health Portal and Mobile App
Note: The COVID-19 Daily Screening questionnaire is only available on the mobile app; it is not available in your browser. The app can be installed on any iOS or Android device. Parents, be sure to follow the instructions for how to log in "Using the Mobile App" below.
How to Complete the COVID-19 Daily Screening
Parents for Their Children
Every morning before you leave your house with your child(ren), take your child(ren)'s temperature and complete the Student Daily Screening on your mobile device. Your entire household must be symptom free for 72 hours in order for your child(ren) to enter a school building.
Note: If your child is staying home due to illness, please continue to complete the Student Daily Screening on your mobile device and indicate which symptoms your child is experiencing. Symptom reporting plays a critical role in helping us monitor illness, tracing contacts, if necessary, and preventing the spread of the virus.
- Take your child's temperature.
- Log in to the app using the username and corresponding password you set up (see How to Log In > Using the Mobile App).
- If you have more than one child attending Bear Creek, select a child's name.
- Click the Covid-19 button.
- Click the words "Student Daily Screening." It will indicate that the "Requirement is Incomplete" each weekday morning prior to your completing the questionnaire.
- Complete the Student Daily Screening form on your phone or tablet by answering all 5 yes/no questions. Click Save button when finished.
- If you answer No to all the questions, your child will receive permission to enter the school building with a green GO designation. Note the student's name and today's date on the page. If your child drives him/herself to school, take a screenshot and send it to your child; he/she must show it before he/she enters the building. Click the back arrow in the orange bar if you need to edit your response or have additional children for whom you need to complete the screening questionnaire or click OK at the very bottom of the page.
- If you answer Yes to any question, your child may not enter the school building. Stay home and email Attendance Coordinator (attendance@tbcs.org); the school nurse will be automatically notified. Click the back arrow in the orange bar if you need to edit your response or have additional children for whom you need to complete the screening questionnaire.
- Note the "Requirement is Complete" message and Edit button for changing your response in case you made a mistake. Click the back arrow to return to your child's mobile home page.
- Click the "hamburger" button in the upper left corner of the page to see the "hamburger" menu.
- From the "hamburger" menu, click My Students to switch to another child (see Step 3 above).
- When you arrive on campus with your child(ren), log back in on the app and navigate to each child's GO page to show to the greeter.
Employees for Themselves
Every morning before you leave your house, take your temperature and complete the Employee Daily Screening on your mobile device.
- Take your temperature.
- Log in to the app using your fs-firstname.lastname username and corresponding password.
- Click the Covid-19 button. Don't worry that it says "Student" at the top of the page. (This app was initially developed for students and isn't completely redesigned to handle a more general user-type yet.)
- If necessary, click the words "Employee Daily Screening." It will indicate that the "Requirement is Incomplete" each morning prior to your completing the questionnaire.
- Complete the Employee Daily Screening form on your phone or tablet by answering six yes/no questions.
- If you answer No to all the questions, you will receive permission to enter the school building with a green GO designation. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click the OK button.
- If you answer Yes to any question, you may not enter the school building. Stay home and contact both School Nurse Lea Hysom (lea.hysom@tbcs.org) as well as your supervisor.
How Parents Log In
In Your Browser
From your browser (Chrome, Firefox, and Safari work best; Edge is not recommended), parents will use their Bear Creek username and password (usually firstname.lastname) to log in to Bear Creek's health portal. These are the same credentials you use to log in to the MyBC/Parents page and enable you to access the Parent Portal (Veracross). All the links to the health portal on our website (www.tbcs.org) are authenticated by Veracross, so parents don't have to remember an additional set of credentials.
- We strongly urge you to watch the 3-minute video tutorial.
- On the Front Desk, parents will see each child enrolled at Bear Creek listed. For each child, answer the conditional questions and then complete all the requirements on the Student Health Tracker To Do List. Read the FAQ if you have questions about a specific requirement.
- All requirements are completed and signed online. A few (those requiring a physician's or student's signature) should be printed, signed, and uploaded.
- You may upload scanned documents in your browser or use the mobile app (see below). Do not mail, email, or drop off paper forms to/at Bear Creek.
- If you have questions or problems using Magnus Health (browser or app), please contact their Help Desk via service@magnushealthportal.com, 877-461-6831, or using the chat option from their Need Help menu.
Note: The COVID-19 Student Daily Screening questionnaire is only available in the mobile app. It is not available in the Health Portal in your browser.
Using the Mobile App
If you want to use Magnus Health's mobile app to complete the Student Daily Screening questionnaire, upload images of signed paper forms (certificate of immunization, sports physical, medication authorization, Form I-20 student living arrangements, background check disclosure, and driver acknowledgement), or complete other requirements on the Student Health Tracker To-Do List, follow these instructions:
- In your browser, log in to Bear Creek's new secure health portal using your Bear Creek credentials. These are the same credentials you use to log in to the MyBC/Parents page and enable you to access the Parent Portal (Veracross). All the links to the health portal on our website (www.tbcs.org) are authenticated by Veracross, so parents don't have to remember an additional set of credentials. Magnus Health will open in a new tab.
- On the health portal, ensure you are on the "Front Desk" and then hover over your name.
- Choose "Change Credentials."
- Create a username and password (recommend keeping the same as Bear Creek credentials). This username and password combination will be used as your mobile app login only. You will always use your Bear Creek credentials to log in to the health portal using the links on Bear Creek's website (see above).
- A few parents may encounter an error because their Bear Creek usernames are already in use by Magnus Health. If this happens, please select another convenient username.

Face ID and Touch ID
The latest version of the Magnus Health app (20.09.30) supports biometric authentication (Face ID or Touch ID). If your phone does not automatically update your apps, then be sure to get the latest version from the App Store or Google Play Store. You will be asked if you want to enable face or touch ID when you log in. (See these instructions for additional details.) If you are an employee and the parent of Bear Creek students, note that the biometric authentication will only work for one of your accounts (your personal fs- account or your parent account). You may still want to use a password keeper for both accounts; if the last account used to log in to the Magnus app is not the one associated with face/touch ID, then you will receive an "incorrect password" error if you attempt face/touch ID prior to reauthenticating with your password.

About Magnus Health Accounts
Please note that rather than a single set of credentials allowing users to access their various roles in Magnus Health, you may have multiple sets of credentials depending on your roles.
All Employees
All employees must use the fs-firstname.lastname username and corresponding password to log in on the Magnus Health app and complete the daily screening attestation.
Faculty and Coaches
For access as well as the health room check-in site, teachers, coaches, and nurses require another Magnus Health account designated with a mh-firstname.lastname username. These mh- accounts will also be used to access student medical information and Magnus 911 cards (our new online emergency forms), when we start playing sports and taking field trips again.
Parents
From a browser, parents of Bear Creek students should always use the "SSO" links to the health portal found on the school website and log in to Magnus Health with their Veracross credentials. Parents must follow these special instructions to create credentials for accessing their child(ren)'s health information in the app and completing their child(ren)'s daily screening attestation.
Activate Your "fs-" Employee Account
- Check your inbox for an email from service@magnushealthportal.com with a subject line reading: [FACULTY - The Bear Creek School] You're invited to join our Magnus Health account. Even though it is addressed to faculty, all employees should open this email. If you don't receive this email, please contact Sini Fernandez (sini.fernandez@tbcs.org).
- Click Create Password for your new fs-firstname.lastname account as soon as you receive the email as the link expires quickly.
- If necessary, enter a birthdate (it can't be blank), then check the box to agree to Magnus Health's terms and conditions and privacy policy. It is not necessary to correct the birthdate or change the phone number.
- Set your password.
- The video tutorial is not applicable to employees. Just close it.
- No further actions can be taken in the browser. Just log out.
- Use your activated fs-firstname.lastname credentials to log in on the Magnus mobile app (see next section) to complete your Employee Daily Screening (instructions at top of this page).
