Dining Safely

The Main Kitchen will resume food service when the school year starts in August 2021. Students in grades K – 8 who wish to purchase lunch from the kitchen will give their lunch orders to their teachers in the morning. Upper School students lunch orders are placed each day before 9:00 a.m. using the Upper School Lunch Orders form. It is helpful to order the night before.

Lunch will be delivered to students in their classrooms and/or designated lunch locations. 

Daily Sack Lunch Options

  • Hot item
  • Deli sandwich
  • Soy butter and jelly sandwich on wholegrain (K – 4 only)
  • Bagel and cream cheese (5 – 8 only)
  • Salad or wrap (9 – 12 only)

All sack lunches include chips or crackers, fruit, and beverage. Daily menu options will be posted on the school website (see below).

Food Preparation

The kitchen will continue to follow all recommended COVID-19 food preparation guidelines and utilize the new sanitizing system and cleaning and safety protocols put in place last year.

  • Social distancing will be maintained during all food preparation.
  • Kitchen staff will wear masks and gloves during all food preparation and delivery.

Food-From-Home Guidelines

No Nuts Allowed

Please follow these no-nut guidelines when sending your child to school with lunches, snacks, or other food items for birthdays, Advisory, or other occasions. Also see our Family Handbook (on MyBC/Parents).

While we have been a "nut-aware" school, we have temporarily shifted to a "no-nut" school due to the necessity of having to eat snacks and lunch in the classroom because of COVID-19 distancing regulations. In order to maintain the safest possible environment for all of our students, do not send children to school with any food containing nuts, even if just for a child’s personal consumption. Peanut butter, many types of granola bars, trail mix, cookies or candy with nuts, dips or sauces that contain nuts, or “protein packs” that include nuts are examples of foods to avoid sending to school. 

Any food brought onto campus to share with others (birthday celebrations, room parties, Advisory snacks, final exam treats, food blessings, etc.) must be nut-free and should include an ingredient list.

Students will be reminded to not share food from their own lunches and provided an opportunity to wash hands before and after eating.

Grades 5-8

Choose an option:

  • white bread with ham, turkey, and cheddar cheese
  • bagel with cream cheese
  • crispy chicken burger

All sack lunches come with chips, fruit, and a water bottle.

Grades 9-12

Sack lunch options:

  • wheat or white bread with ham, turkey, cheddar, lettuce, and tomato
  • Garden salad with chicken
  • meat lasagne

All sack lunches include chips, fruit and a water bottle.

Grades K-4

Choose an option:

  • white bread with ham, turkey and cheddar cheese
  • soy butter with grape jelly on wholegrain bread
  • crispy chicken burger

All sack lunches come with goldfish crackers, fruit, and water bottle.
