The Main Kitchen will resume food service starting September 14, 2020. As usual, students in grades K – 6 who wish to purchase lunch from the kitchen will give their lunch orders to the teacher in the morning. Lunch will be delivered to students in their classrooms.
This fall, the kitchen will serve a two sack lunch options with a choice of deli sandwich or hot item of the day. All sack lunches include chips, dessert, fruit, and water bottle. Daily menu options will be posted on the school website (see below).
We have worked hard to ensure the kitchen follows all recommended COVID-19 food preparation guidelines.
- Social distancing will be maintained during all food preparation.
- The kitchen has been updated with a new sanitizing system and cleaning and safety protocols are in place.
- Kitchen staff will wear masks and gloves during all food preparation and delivery.
If you have questions about food service or food allergies, please contact Jenny Vessey, Kitchen Manager, at email@example.com.
Please follow these new guidelines when sending your child to school with lunches, snacks, or other food items for birthdays, Advisory, or other occasions.
While we have been a "nut-aware" school, we are temporarily shifting to a "no-nut" school due to the necessity of having to eat snacks and lunch in the classroom because of COVID-19 distancing regulations. In order to maintain the safest possible environment for all of our students, do not send children to school with any food containing nuts, even if just for a child’s personal consumption. Peanut butter, many types of granola bars, trail mix, cookies or candy with nuts, dips or sauces that contain nuts, or “protein packs” that include nuts are examples of foods to avoid sending to school.
Any food brought onto campus to share with others (birthday celebrations, room parties, Advisory snacks, finals treats, food blessings, etc.) should be store-bought or commercially produced items in individually wrapped servings, including fresh fruit. Those items that include ingredient lists are highly recommended.
Students will be reminded to not share food from their own lunches and provided an opportunity to wash hands before and after eating.
Use Total Access to check your family account balance and see what your kids are eating. See Price List for a complete list of all items sold through Bear Creek Food Services.
Note: Parents of new students will receive an email from Kathleen Lewis (firstname.lastname@example.org), Business Operations Manager, in early August with their Total Access family account credentials.
You may add money to your family's lunch account at any time. To add money to your family lunch account, use the online form or print a deposit form and submit it with your check in the main office. The kitchen is completely cashless.
