If your daughter is in grades 4 – 6, register online by March 31 for A Girl's Guide to Growing Up, the mother/daughter gender-separated class (see also A Boy's Guide to Growing Up) designed to help children understand the how, when, and why of puberty in a comfortable, age-appropriate setting. This class, presented by the Bear Creek health team, will also give parents a chance to gain tools to navigate important conversations. Open to newly enrolled students, potential students, or friends who are interested in the content being provided with a Christian worldview.

Class Objectives:

  • Understand normal growth and development, including the physical and emotional changes that happen during puberty.
  • Learn about the anatomy and physiology of the human reproductive system and human reproduction.
  • Learn about the menstrual cycle, what to expect during a period, and how to manage it.
  • Explain how to maintain a healthy body through personal hygiene, healthy living, and making good choices.
  • Assist parents in communicating the right information to their children as they enter puberty.

Register online by Monday, March 31. The fee is $30 per child.
