MS/US Parent/Teacher Conferences
-
Upper School

In October, we host the first of our two annual parent/teacher conferences, the second will be held in the spring. You are invited to attend to meet with your child's teachers and discuss your son's/daughter's progress in class. Here are some FAQ's regarding conferences:

Where do I park? Please park at the Main building and follow the footpath to the Upper School. Do not park on 208th Ave NE.

Who is involved? Parents meet with the teachers. Students do not attend these conferences.

What happens? When you check in, you will receive a mid-semester progress report (a snapshot of how your child is doing at the mid-semester point). You will then proceed to the Commons where you will have an opportunity to sit down with your child's teachers in turn and briefly discuss your son's/daughter's class achievements and/or any areas in need of improvement.

Where do conferences occur? Upper School parents and teachers meet in the Nagel Commons; Middle School parents and teachers meet upstairs in the Upper School art gallery and Andrea Lairson Library.

Do I need an appointment? No appointments are necessary - just visit the Commons at anytime during the day and get in line to see the teacher. Please try not to exceed 5 minutes per teacher to ensure that wait times are minimal.

Why do we have conferences? We believe that education is a partnership between school and home, so parent conferences provide an opportunity for us to work together. Parents comment over and over again how valuable this time is with teachers. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to attend conferences if possible.
