Ask your parents to save the date of October 18, 2018 so they can come and visit their grandchild, in grades K-12 on Grandparents Day. Details will be sent to grandparents this summer, so please update their contact information on your Family Profile.

Donate Used Uniform Items June 4-8
If you have gently-used Bear Creek uniform items that you would like to donate, please drop them off in the designated bins under the stairs in the Main Building. Read more for details on items accepted. The sale will be held on August 8.

Your Volunteer Time is Money
Numerous local companies recognize volunteer time through the donation of cash grants to non-profits at which their employees volunteer. This means that for each hour you volunteer time, your employer might donate money to The Bear Creek School.
Commencement Exercises on June 9
All are invited to the Class of 2018 Commencement Exercises on Saturday, June 9 at Bellevue Presbyterian Church. Pick up tickets beginning May 15 in the main office at any of our buildings.

Upper School News
Upper School Honors Assembly on June 7
Parents are invited to help us celebrate our students' accomplishments at the Upper School Honors Assembly on Thursday, June 7 at 9:00 AM in the Cornerstone Theater. Seniors should arrive by 8:00 AM (dressy dress). Dress uniform for grades 9-11.
Senior Families RSVP for An Evening of Honors
An Evening of Honors for seniors and their families will be held on June 8 at 7:00 PM. Please RSVP promptly.
Photography Students Recognized
Eight Bear Creek photography students were recognized at the Washington State High School Photography Contest on May 5 at Inglemoor High School. There were over 4,000 entries. Freshman Haley Chapman's entry in the Still Life category was named a finalist. Seven more students' entries received select ribbons in the indicated categories: Lauren Shen (Documentary), Maya Vides (Portrait, People), Camilla Hansen (People), Kennedy Shorett (Documentary), Lili Kim (Still Life), Josh Kelleran (Landscape), and Ethan Quillian (Architecture).
Report Community Service Hours by June 7
To receive credit for hours served this spring, Upper School students must report service in x2VOL by June 7.
Growls Young Life Celebrates End of the Year
Growls Young Life – Bear Creek and Overlake End of Year party is on Thursday, June 7 at 6 PM at SAMBICA on Lake Sammamish! All Upper School students, along with students completing grade 8 are invited to come join the festivities.

Grizzlies Athletics
John Hayes and the Bear Creek Boys Golf Team Win Two 1A State Golf Championships
Congratulations to senior John Hayes and the Bear Creek boys golf team for winning two 1A State Golf Championships on May 23 at Liberty Lake Golf Course in Spokane. Among the top 80 golfers in 1A, the Grizzlies came out on top. John was able to hold off the competitors on day two, shooting even par for a total score of 139 to earn himself an individual State title. Junior Oliver Nordberg shot a final round of 68 (the lowest round at State by any golfer), finishing with 146 points in fourth place. Together, John and Oliver amassed 88 team points and finished just ahead of Seattle Academy for a first place team championship.
Four Grizzlies at State Track & Field Meet; One-Two Wins in the 1600
These four athletes advanced to State and to compete in the 1A Track & Field State Championship Meet in Cheney which concludes on May 26.

- Olivia Markezich in the 800M, 1600M, and 3200M with school records in the 800 and 1600
