Register for Upper School Spring Sports by February 8

Chad Pohlman, Athletics Director

Hello Bear Creek Families,

If your son or daughter is planning to play a spring sport at Bear Creek, please complete the online registration form and pay the fee by the Friday, February 8 deadline. We cannot guarantee participation for any student registering late. Interested students should attend lunchtime spring sports interest meetings on Friday, January 25. The coaches will be on hand to answer questions about the season.

Upper School spring sports offerings include:

  • Boys Baseball (with Overlake)
  • Girls Golf
  • Boys Soccer
  • Girls Tennis
  • Boys and Girls Track & Field

Practices and Expectations The Upper School spring sports seasons all begin on Monday, February 25, immediately after Mid-Winter Break. You can expect email communication from the head coach after the registration deadline to inform you of all the season details including the practice schedule.

All Upper School athletics teams practice each day after school for two hours (occasionally longer). All student-athletes are expected to attend every practice, match, game, or meet, and any/all conflicts should be communicated directly to the coach with as much notice as possible. The WIAA requires that all athletes must complete ten team practices prior to competing. The schedules for games/matches/meets are posted on the school website's Teams and Schedules page. The sport-specific Quick Facts found on the Upper School Spring Sports tab on the Registration, Fees, and Schedules page contain more details which will be helpful to families new to one of these sports teams.

Sports Physicals Your child must have a physical release form on file with the Athletics Department in order to start practicing with a Bear Creek sports team. Please drop off all physical forms directly in the Athletics Office which is located in the gym; we also have a locked drop box just outside of our office in case no one is in the office to receive your physical form. Physicals are good for two years. If you have questions regarding when your child's physical expires, please contact Assistant Athletics Director Ryan Byram (rbyram@tbcs.org).
