Athletics Update: Spring Sports Q&A on March 24

Chad Pohlman, Athletics Director

Hello Grizzlies,

The fall sports season sure has been a lot of fun for our student-athletes. The Lady Grizzlies volleyball team is in the middle of an amazing season (currently 7-1). Our girls soccer team has had some incredible performances and is playing competitively with the best teams in the state. The team is currently in third place. Our boys golf, boys tennis, and cross country teams have all posted outstanding performances of their own, and there is more great action in the weeks ahead. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to watch the Grizzlies play live on NFHS Network. There are a couple more opportunities this week!

Please read this update regarding what is around the corner with spring sports and how we will wrap up the fall season.

Please pay the fee on our new registration portal and submit your child's physical examination form, liability release, and all other requirements through the health portal. Students are not eligible to participate until all requirements have been completed on the health portal and the fee is paid. Additionally, today is also the deadline to complete the spring sports gear order form. Please ensure your child gets his/her team T-shirt, uniform, and/or other team-related gear at the beginning of the season by ordering today.

The spring season will run seven consecutive weeks beginning on Monday, March 29, and concluding on Saturday, May 15. All athletes must complete the WIAA minimum (just 5 this year; usually 10 practices are required) official practices prior to competing. We are currently working on game schedules which should be ready to view in the upcoming week at, our new home for all Grizzlies sports team schedules. You may expect email communication directly from our varsity head coaches once you have completed the entire registration process.

Do you have questions about the upcoming spring season? Or would you like to meet the coach and attend a sport-specific parent meeting? You are invited to attend our Spring Sports Q&A on Wednesday, March 24, at 7:00 p.m., to learn all the details and get your questions answered about the adjusted Upper School spring sports season, new protocols, etc. We will have breakout sessions for team-specific questions with head coaches.

Wrapping Up Fall Sports

We have had an amazing fall season. Each team has had so much success and yet, it is just the joy of returning to team competition which has been the biggest thrill of all. While there will be no district or state tournaments this year, we are still excited that each team will have the opportunity to compete in our 14-team Emerald Sound Conference playoffs. All playoff games will be held the week of Monday, March 29, with the exception of the boys golf championship which is held at the end of the spring season. We will add all playoff games to the schedules at

Also make sure you are following us on social media to get the most current announcements, scores, and updates. You will find us on Instagram and Twitter at @bcgrizzlysports.
