Admissions Testing

Requirements

Admissions testing is required for all candidates applying to kindergarten through grade 12. Detailed information can be found on your child’s Admissions Portal, but in general, test requirements are as follows:

• Kindergarten – Grade 1: Testing is conducted at our Valley Campus (Bear Creek Preschool) located at 19315 NE 95th St., Redmond, WA 98053. Please arrive no more than five (5) minutes before your child's scheduled test time, as we are unable to accommodate early arrivals.
• Grades 2 – 3: Students take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) Primary Level which is conducted remotely at home.
• Grade 4: Students take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) Primary Level or Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) Elementary Level. The ISEE is conducted remotely at home. (Note: There is no remote SSAT testing option for students applying to grade 4; however, an in-person option maybe available at various school locations in the area.)
• Grade 5: Students take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) Lower Level or Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) Elementary Level. The ISEE is conducted remotely at home. (Note: There is no remote SSAT testing option for students applying to grade 5; however, an in-person option maybe available at various school locations in the area.)
• Grade 6: Students take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) Lower Level or Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) Middle Level. At-home remote testing is available for both tests.
• Grades 7 – 8: Students take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) Middle Level or Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) Middle Level. At-home remote testing is available for both tests.
• Grades 9 and above: Students take the Independent School Exam (ISEE) Upper Level or Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) Upper Level. At-home remote testing is available for both tests. 
  • If the applicant’s first language or primary language spoken in the home is not English and the applicant has studied in the United States less than two full academic years, the individual TOEFL may also be required.

If registering for the ISEE, SSAT, or individual TOEFL, please include Bear Creek's school code on your child’s test registration. Doing so will allow us to receive your child’s test scores.
