Note: This page will be updated for summer 2023 by May 1.

Pick a 2022 Challenge

Students successfully completing the summer reading program will be awarded a free dress day on Thursday, September 8. In addition, to the AR Challenge and Checklist Challenge, the A-Z Super Challenge is available for all students. Students who complete the A-Z Super Challenge will receive a bonus prize during the first week of school.

Accelerated Reader (AR) Challenge

This challenge is for returning students entering grades 1 – 8 who wish to reach the Accelerated Reader (AR) point goal for their grade level. AR points earned between June 20 and August 12, 2022, will count towards your child's summer point total.

AR quizzes will be unavailable:

  • between 5:00 p.m. on May 20 and 6:00 a.m. on June 20.
  • between 6:00 a.m. on August 12 and 6:00 a.m. on August 30.

To participate in the AR Challenge, please opt in for AR at Home quizzing by July 31 (requests received on or after August 1 will not be fulfilled until the beginning of the school year). If you are new to AR, please watch this tutorial showing how to support your child in using the AR system. If your child misses the AR quizzing window between June 20 and August 12, encourage him/her to complete the Checklist Challenge (see below). Students who complete the AR Challenge may also complete the Checklist Challenge and/or the A-Z Super Challenge (see below).

  • Entering grades 2 3: 10 AR points
