Summer Reading Program
Ida Lairson and C.E. "Ted" Kindel Libraries
July 10, 17, 24, 31, and August 21
2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Those students entering grades 1-6, who wish to participate in the summer reading program and reach the Accelerated Reader (AR) point goal for their grade level, will receive a free dress day in the first few weeks of the regular school year.
AR tests for Summer AR Points must be completed by August 21. The 2019-2020 AR Program will begin on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 3.
Entering kindergarten students will be introduced to and begin the Accelerated Reader (AR) in mid-September with their kindergarten class. However, kindergarteners will be given their own library accounts and may check out two books at a time on their accounts during the summer. Parents are also welcome to set up a library account and may check out up to five books at a time on their parent accounts.
During the summer students may take AR tests and check out books in the Ida Lairson Library and C.E. "Ted" Kindel Library. Both the Valley Campus Library and Andrea Lairson Library in the Upper School are closed all summer.
Summer AR Point Goals
- Entering grade 1: 5 AR points
- Entering grades 2-3: 10 AR points
