School Closure and Emergency Information

Notification

If the school is closed, delayed, or dismissed early due to weather, power outage, or any other emergency situation, the news will be disseminated in some or all of the following ways:

  1. A pop-up notice on our website
  2. Flashalert
  3. Text message*
  4. Email*
  5. Local radio and television news stations
  6. The voice message on the school voicemail system (if power and Internet services are available)

It is no longer necessary to subscribe to News Alerts Emergency Notifications. Just ensure that your cell phone number and email address are listed correctly in your Household Profile on the Parent Portal. Go to MyBC/Parents, click the My Parent Portal button, then log in to review and update your profile, if necessary.

Parents, faculty, staff, and Upper School students will receive emergency notifications via text message. Parents, faculty, and staff will receive emergency notifications via email as well.

Preschool, 2/3-K, and Bus Service

If school is delayed, then preschool and 2/3-kindergarten classes are cancelled. Morning bus service will not run.

If school is dismissed early, afternoon bus service will not run.
