2013 Journey to Distinction
It is our pleasure to present The Bear Creek School Strategic Plan: 2013 Journey to Distinction. During the past three years member of the Bear Creek community have invested time and energy into the process of self-reflection, and this plan is a testimony to that thoughtful work. This plan represents the culmination of feedback from parents, faculty, the board of trustees, staff and students and many hours of analysis and examination concerning the future of The Bear Creek School. Last year many Bear Creek community members also participated in The Bear Creek Conversation through surveys, facilitated discussions and small groups, and provided additional thoughts and opinions about our future.
The Bear Creek Strategic Plan: 2013 Journey to Distinction provides a strategic blueprint to shape our journey from excellence to distinction. Five key result areas form the foundation of this plan:
- Pursuing academic excellence
- Enhancing Christian worldview integration
- Developing organizational effectiveness and efficiency
- Expanding distinctive Middle School and Upper School experiences
- Maintaining small class size and encouraging community
Additionally, we benchmarked many of the strategies against best practices articulated by respected institutions like the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), Association of Independent Schools (PNAIS), Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and others. Certainly there will be more conversations to come as we begin to act upon these ideas, and we look forward to working as a community to make this vision a reality.
