Bear Creek Sends 15 Athletes to State Track & Field Championships

Congratulations to all the Grizzlies who qualified for the State Track & Field Championships by finishing in the top three at the Bi-District Championship Meet on May 18. They will compete May 25-26 at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.

  • Sophomore Holly Ray - girls discus, first place
  • Senior Madelyn Magee - girls high jump, first place; girls long jump, first place
  • Freshman Jonathan Magee - boys high jump, third place; boys long jump, second place
  • Junior Sam Ethington - boys pole vault, third place
  • Senior Lucas Fernandez - boys 100M, third place
  • Sophomore Jesse Leuenberger - boys 200M, third place
  • Senior Morgan Rial - girls 300M hurdles, first place
  • Senior Joy Twentyman - girls 3200M, third place
  • Sophomore David Broaddus, boys 3200M, second place
  • Rial, Magee, seniors Elizabeth Fernandez and Danielle Isbell - second place, girls 800M relay
  • Rial, Magee, E. Fernandez, sophomore Bridget Daugherty - second place, girls 400M relay
  • L. Fernandez, Leuenberger, seniors Kerry Culbert-O'Leary and Mark Phillips - first place, boys 400M relay (set a new school record of 44.94!)
