The Bear Creek School is a Christian classical school which provides a rigorous, challenging curriculum from a Christian worldview. Families are admitted based on academic, faith, and commitment criteria.
We seek families with students who have a range of interests, are open-minded, curious, and desire to make connections across disciplines and to think critically. The Bear Creek School upholds superior standards of academic excellence and seeks students who love learning. Bear Creek students engage in a college preparatory curriculum, so that, regardless of the life-work God later calls them to pursue, each is prepared to live wisely and to live well. Successful Bear Creek students are positive, put forth their best effort and are willing to take risks. They actively participate in and contribute to classroom activities and strive to be intellectually humble and intellectually curious.
We seek students who are open to developing their faith in God. The Bear Creek School recognizes that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding," and believes understanding and wisdom are best built within a Christian worldview. Our school community affirms the biblical values of loving the Lord with our minds and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Emphasis is placed on essential beliefs of the Christian faith as articulated in the Statement of Faith and on charitably navigating denominational differences, not on those differences that separate denominations.
Since parent involvement and support is crucial to the education of a child, we desire to partner with the family to provide a high quality Christian liberal arts education. Bear Creek parents are committed to the school community, support a Christian worldview and show dignity and respect to all individuals. Together we share the common goal of educating children with a high quality, Christian liberal arts program.
Priority Applicant Policy
Understanding the importance of mission-fit families and the desire of many families to have all their children attend the same school, The Bear Creek School has created a priority applicant policy. This policy applies to children of current Bear Creek families and children of Bear Creek alumni.
The Bear Creek School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
