On March 27, the Forest Ridge-Bear Creek softball team lost to Bellevue Christian (2-9) in a non-league match-up.

On March 25, six members of the track team competed at the Kent-Meridian Invitational. Sophomore Sam Prokopchuk ran a personal record (PR) in both the 400 and 200. Sophomore Andrea Markezich raced a lifetime PR in the 1600 with a fifth place finish. Freshman Brielle Baker ran a lifetime PR in the 100 and a season PR in the 400; senior Angela Tzen ran a season PR in the 800. In the shot put competition, senior Tadd Perkins attained a new PR and junior Richard Zhang also threw solidly.

Two new basketball camps have been added for grades 4-8. Students will have the chance to train with our varsity coaches and players. The week will be filled with tons of great skill work and fun games. Sign up for this camp or one of the other 50 camps offered at www.tbcs.org/summer.

The Forest Ridge-Bear Creek softball team plays home games at Robinswood Field in Bellevue. On March 16, the Ravens defeated Mercer Island (9-3). On March 23, the team lost to Cedarcrest (6-1).

Bear Creek athletes play on the Overlake lacrosse team each spring. The season is off to a great start. On March 11, the Owls lost to Stevenson (7-8). On March 14, the team prevailed over Nathan Hale (11-7). On March 16, the Overlake defeated Roosevelt (8-5). On March 18, the team fell to Ballard (6-13). On March 22, Garfield forfeited their match. The next lacrosse match is on April 18.

At the first league track meet of the season on March 22, the team gave solid performances in both running and throwing events. Highlights included sophomore Sam Prokopchuk's first place finish in the 100 meter dash and junior Ian Levasseur's second place finish in the 800 meter run. The entire team focused on relays and getting the feel for different distances and events.

Join other parents to support one another on the parenting journey. On Tuesday evening, March 28 from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM, we will recap the March conversation topic: engaging cooperation. On Wednesday, March 29 from 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM, we will discuss praise. All sessions meet in the Parent Lounge, and each class begins with a brief presentation followed by discussion and Q & A. Younger siblings and children not enrolled in Cubs Club are welcome to attend the Wednesday sessions. The Parent Partner Program is open to all, so please feel free to invite your friends and relatives who may be interested

Learn how to understand and compare financial award letters. Erin Odell from Grand Canyon University will walk parents through their children's individual financial award offers (please bring to this meeting) and answer questions about the financial aspects of college on Tuesday, April 4 at 8:10 AM in the Andrea Lairson Library.

Thank you to all the Auction 2017 donors, volunteers, sponsors, and guests! Once Upon a Time this amazing community came together and raised more than $300,000 to benefit our students, including $120,000 for a great new playground expansion. On March 17, the Growls shutout King's (10-0). On March 21, Overlake/Bear Creek defeated Charles Wright (6-4). Sophomore Jon Campbell pitched two innings and threw four strikeouts. Senior Karsten Kohout had an RBI. On March 23, the team defeated Monsanto (5-1). Kohout had two RBIs.

On March 18, the girls tennis team lost to University Prep (0-5). On March 20, the Lady Grizzlies lost to Forest Ridge Ravens (0-5). On March 23, the team lost again to the Ravens (0-5).

At the WIAA 3A State Debate Tournament held on March 17-18 at University of Puget Sound, seniors Justin Li and Sean Gallagher placed fourth in Public Forum, and Justin was named seventh place speaker. Senior Adesuwa Agbonile placed seventh in Lincoln-Douglas. Junior Taylor Unoki made Super Congress. Congratulations on strong performances!

Upper School students are invited to the social on Saturday, April 1 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM in the gym. There will games galore including a BubbleBall tournament, plus snacks of course. Sign up next week to play BubbleBall ($6 per team, plus two signed waivers, Bear Creek and BubbleBall, for each player).

Upper School students are invited to attend one final Career Exploration Panel on Monday, April 3 at 12:35 PM in the Block Leadership Suite (this event was originally scheduled in February).
