Forensics Team Winners at Eastside Catholic TournamentOn February 1-2, 2013 at the Eastside Catholic Invitational, the Bear Creek forensics team fought hard and performed very well. In addition to the personal victories and successes achieved, Bear Creek students won the following awards amid the notoriously tough competition:

  • Senior Jake Casale, second place in Humorous Interpretation
  • Senior Katie Gomulkiewicz, second place in Oratory
  • Sophomore Grace Carruth, third place in Oratory
  • Gomulkiewicz/Casale, fourth place in Duo Interpretation
  • Sophomore Semilore Sobande, finalist in Dramatic Interpretation

Additionally, Sobande broke into the quarter finals round of Lincoln-Douglas debate, a huge accomplishment for her as it was just the second tournament in which she competed in the open (varsity) division.

All the teachers make learning enjoyable and they are cultivating a passion in students to learn. That’s something they will carry with them for the rest of their lives."
