Grandparents Day on October 18
Ask your parents to save the date of Thursday, October 18, 2018 so they can come and visit their grandchild, in kindergarten through grade 12 at Bear Creek on Grandparents Day. Detailed information will be sent to grandparents this summer, so please be sure their contact information on your Family Profile is up to date.

Bear Creek Prays on May 24
Join Bear Creek parents for a time of prayer for the school, students, teachers, administrators, and/or specific needs of the school from 8:30 AM to 8:50 AM in the Little Kitchen in the southwest corner of the Main Commons.
Commencement Exercises on June 9
All are invited to the Class of 2018 Commencement Exercises on Saturday, June 9 at Bellevue Presbyterian Church. Pick up tickets beginning May 15 in the main office at any of our buildings.

The boat will be departing from Kirkland's 2nd Avenue Dock (not the Kirkland Marina Dock). Anthony's HomePort Restaurant is the best address to put into a GPS (135 Lake Street South, Kirkland, 98033).
How to Prepare for College Applications on May 23
Juniors are invited to hear from graduating seniors about the college search and application process on Wednesday, May 23, from 8:10 AM to 8:50 AM in the Andrea Lairson Library. Juniors will hear seniors' advice, what they would have done differently, and ask them questions.

Early Middle School Spring Concert on May 22
Enjoy some wonderful music performed by grades 5 and 6 bands, grades 5 and 6 orchestras, and grade 6 choir as they present their Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 22 in the Cornerstone Theater. The concert begins at 7:00 PM.

Parent Partner Program on Wednesdays
Come join other parents to support one another on the parenting journey. We gather weekly on Wednesdays at 11:45 AM in the Parent Lounge. Topics vary depending upon specific needs expressed by the parents in attendance.
Grizzlies Athletics
Track & Field Bi-District Results
Competing at the District 1/2 1A Track & Field Championship Meet on May 17, the following athletes advanced to State and more may be added as the meet continues tomorrow, May 19.
- Olivia Markezich with a win in the 1600M (4:59) and another school record
- Andrea Markezich placed second in the 1600M (5:03)
- Brielle Baker took third in the long jump (15-11.0)
- JJ Finan to the 100M final with a PR of 11.91
- Brielle Baker to the 200M final with a PR of 27.80
- Ian Levasseur to the 400M final with a 52.56
- Olivia Markezich to the 800M final with a 2:21
- Alex Finan, Andrea Markezich, and Olivia Markezich will run in the 3200M
- Olivia Wallingford will compete in the discus
Boys Golf Bi-District Tournament Results
Senior John Hayes and juniors Oliver Nordberg and Jon Campbell represented Bear Creek on May 15 in the Bi-District Golf Tournament after finishing in the top-14 in the Emerald City League tournament last fall. John Hayes shot a 73 to win the District 1/2 1A Championship! Oliver finished tied for third and the team finished second. Next is the 1A State Golf Tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 22-23 at Liberty Lake in Spokane.
Girls Tennis Emerald City League Championship Results
The girls tennis team sent six representatives to compete in the Emerald City League Championships on May 11-12 at the Amy Yee Tennis Center in Seattle. Congratulations to senior Julia Maher, junior Melanie Carlson, sophomore Annemarie Mullet, and freshmen Grace McBride, Emily Watson, and Mariana Combariza who qualified for the tournament. Mariana won two singles matches at the tournament and finished in sixth place overall just missing out on a State tournament bid.
Middle School Golf Results
On May 9 at Jefferson Golf Course Giap D., grade 7, won the Crosstown Middle School League Boys Golf Championship by three strokes. Beatrice A., grade 8, tied for first in the girls' tournament but lost in a playoff hole. Congratulations on a great tournament!
