Grizzlies Athletics Track & Field Bi-District Results Competing at the District 1/2 1A Track & Field Championship Meet on May 17, the following athletes advanced to State and more may be added as the meet continues tomorrow, May 19.
Boys Golf Bi-District Tournament Results Senior John Hayes and juniors Oliver Nordberg and Jon Campbell represented Bear Creek on May 15 in the Bi-District Golf Tournament after finishing in the top-14 in the Emerald City League tournament last fall. John Hayes shot a 73 to win the District 1/2 1A Championship! Oliver finished tied for third and the team finished second. Next is the 1A State Golf Tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 22-23 at Liberty Lake in Spokane. Girls Tennis Emerald City League Championship Results The girls tennis team sent six representatives to compete in the Emerald City League Championships on May 11-12 at the Amy Yee Tennis Center in Seattle. Congratulations to senior Julia Maher, junior Melanie Carlson, sophomore Annemarie Mullet, and freshmen Grace McBride, Emily Watson, and Mariana Combariza who qualified for the tournament. Mariana won two singles matches at the tournament and finished in sixth place overall just missing out on a State tournament bid. Middle School Golf Results On May 9 at Jefferson Golf Course Giap D., grade 7, won the Crosstown Middle School League Boys Golf Championship by three strokes. Beatrice A., grade 8, tied for first in the girls' tournament but lost in a playoff hole. Congratulations on a great tournament!
