Grizzlies Athletics

 
Spring Tailgate on May 1
Come out to Marymoor Park to support our spring sports teams at the Spring Tailgate. Boys baseball, boys soccer, and girls tennis teams will play starting at 3:30 PM.

Baseball Clinches League Championship
On April 21, the Overlake/Bear Creek baseball team defeated King's Way Christian from Vancouver, WA (4-1). On April 22, the Growls defeated Catlin Gabel from Portland, OR (10-1). On April 25 the team defeated University Prep (11-1). On April 26, the Growls clinched their fifth consecutive Emerald City League Championship with another victory over U Prep (6-0) when Overlake's Bryce DeLay pitched a perfect game. He threw for seven innings, allowing 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 walks, and struck out 6. The Growls had 8 hits and did not commit a single error in the field. On April 27, the team defeated Seattle Prep (6-1). Come out on Monday, May 1 for Senior Night and the Spring Tailgate at Marymoor Park. First pitch is at 3:30 PM on Field #5.

Lacrosse Results
On April 20, the Overlake lacrosse team lost a close one to Seattle Academy (8-9). On April 22, the team defeated West Seattle (10-8). On April 24, the Owls defeated Roosevelt (10-4). On April 26, the team lost to Ballard (4-13). Senior Night is next Saturday, May 6 at 2:00 PM at Overlake.

Boys Soccer Results
On April 19, the Grizzlies lost to Bush (0-6). On April 21, Bear Creek and Overlake tied (1-1). On April 25, the Grizzlies lost to Northwest (0-2). Come out on Monday, May 1 for Senior Night and the Spring Tailgate at Marymoor Park. Kick-off is at 4:00 PM on Field #3.

Track & Field Results
On April 22, the track team competed at the King's Invitational at King's HS. The entire team had a very successful day, and many team members had lifetime personal records (PR). Several Grizzlies also earned a spot on the podium. Senior Abby Linnenkohl broke the school record in the triple jump, jumping 31' 10.75". She placed third and jumped a PR in both the triple jump and long jump, and freshman Brielle Baker jumped a PR and placed fifth in the long jump. Sophomore Andrea Markezich placed first and ran a PR in the 3200; she placed second in the 1600 as well. Lifetime PRs were achieved by freshman Jordan Snook (200), Brielle Baker (longjump, 400), sophomores Johnny He (400), Joseph Tsou (1600), Tiffany Cowman (800), Ella Foster (discus and javelin), juniors Ian Lavasseur (800), Michelle Gasiewicz (200), and senior Abby Linnenkohl (jumps, 100).

Girls Tennis Results
On April 21, the tennis team played an exhibition match against Redmond HS. They played pro sets (first to 8 games) and tied (6-6). On April 24, the team traveled to Annie Wright in Tacoma and lost (0-5). Come out and support the team on Senior Night, Friday, May 5, when the team takes on Overlake at Marymoor Park.
