The health team is in need of some volunteer help between 9:00 AM - 2:40 PM. Come for an hour or help out for the day; training will be given. Register for College Tours by September 29 The Office of College Advising is offering two college tours this fall. Option 1 is a one-day tour of University of Washington campuses in Seattle and Bothell on Thursday, October 20. Option 2 is an overnight trip to Eastern Washington which includes visits to Whitworth, Gonzaga, and WSU as well as driving tours of four more colleges on Friday and Saturday, October 21-22. First experience part your child's day by attending Chapel from 8:45 AM - 9:15 AM. Register for Cubs Club online. | Dig Pink Volleyball on October 7 Plan to wear PINK and come to Dig Pink on Friday, October 7 when the Grizzlies take on the Christian Faith Eagles in this annual volleyball match-up (JV at 4:30 PM, varsity at 6:00 PM). Proceeds support The Side-Out Foundation and breast cancer awareness and treatment. The Hungry Bear will serve pizza and snacks, plus a Bake Sale too! Long-sleeve T-shirts sold ($20) week of October 3. Admission: $5 for adults, $3 for students, under 5 free. Boys Golf Results On September 22, the Grizzles defeated Seattle Academy (178-189) on Jefferson Golf Course. Junior John Hayes was medalist, shooting a 36. Thank You for Attending the Fall Tailgate Thank you to everyone who came and showed their school spirit at the Fall Tailgate on Wednesday. Lots of hamburgers, hotdogs, and ice cream were consumed, and Titus had a blast in the photo booth with students creating fun memories. The energy was high on the soccer field and the volleyball court. Thank you to all the Grizzlies Booster Club members who volunteered. There is still time to join the Grizzlies Booster Club. Volleyball Results The girls volleyball team lost to Overlake on September 20 (25-19, 25-7, 25-7). Sophomore Abby Campbell had 3 kills. Sophomores Camille Decker and Kathryn Horvath had 4 digs each. On September 21 at the Fall Tailgate, the Lady Grizzlies defeated the Bush Blazers in three exciting sets (26-25, 28-26, 27-25). Decker had 15 kills, and senior Molly Anderson had 17 assists. Cross Country Results On September 17 at South Whidbey's Carl Westing Invitational, sophomore Andrea Markevich finished second in the Girls Varsity Division 2 race with a time of 20:25.53. Sophomore Alex Finan led the boys in the Boys Varsity Division 2 race with a time of 18:56.94. On September 20 at an Emerald City/Nisqually League Meet, Markevich ran a personal best 20:09.30 for a fifth place finish. Finan ran a season record of 18:27.80 for a 14th place finish. Girls Soccer Results On September 17, the girls soccer team traveled to Okanogan where the Lady Grizzlies lost (1-6). Senior Abby Linnenkohl scored in the 75th minute. On September 21 at the Fall Tailgate, the team lost to Bush (2-3). Linnenkohl scored in the first minute and again in the 49th with an assist from junior Taylor Unoki. Boys Tennis Results On September 17, the boys tennis team lost to University Prep (0-5). On September 22, the Grizzlies lost to Seattle Academy (0-5), but it was a tight match with seniors Olu Sobande and Justin Li losing a third set tie breaker in the #1 doubles match. In the #3 doubles match, sophomores Sam Prokopchuk and Aaron Yang also lost a tie breaker. | |
